Most people are now aware that indoor air pollution is an issue of growing concern and increased visibility. Many companies are marketing products and services intended to improve the quality of your indoor air. You have probably seen an advertisement, received a coupon in the mail, or been approached directly by a company offering to clean your air ducts as a means of improving your home's indoor air quality. Dust, dirt, pet hair, mold and other contaminants get inside of your air ducts from years of neglect and can affect your indoor air quality. The general consensus is that air ducts should be cleaned every 3-5 years, however, homes that are more frequently used as short-term rental units, or seasonal properties tend to have more buildup from periods without use.

Vent Cleaning

In some cases rodents and vermin can get inside the ventilation system, roam around to find warmth and contaminate the internal components. This includes urination, waste, shedding of hair, and much more. This is another reason why cabins, condos or other seasonal properties that do not winterize should have their ducts and vents cleaned more frequently than the 3-5 year period.
